Woodring-Roberts' History
The Woodring-Roberts Corporation was founded in 1905 by Victor E. Woodring. Warren Roberts, a former state senator and auditor general of Pennsylvania, joined him in business five years later. The corporation quickly began to grow, adding prestigious clients throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Mr. John Heske joined the Woodring-Roberts team in 1937, and the agency continued to expand its client base. In 1960 Heske became president of the agency. The same year Woodring-Roberts made a move from its original location at the corner of Broad and Main Streets to its present location in the former Lehigh Valley National Bank Building.
Under Heske's leadership Woodring-Roberts flourished. The agency provided insurance coverage for many of the Lehigh Valley 's landmark businesses, and was well respected by insurance companies and clients alike.
Upon Heske's death in the 1980's the agency was purchased by Russell K. “Skip” Fegely and H. Richard Herzog. Fegely and Herzog were both former employees of The Travelers Insurance Group who had joined the agency several years before. Through the 1980's and into the 1990's, Fegely and Herzog continued the tradition of excellence for which the agency has become known.
In 1998, James F. Fitzpatrick, manager of the Dryfoos Insurance Agency Allentown branch office, joined the Woodring-Roberts operations. After the retirements of Fegely in 1997 and Herzog in 2001, Mr. Fitzpatrick was named President of The Woodring-Roberts Corporation. An experienced insurance professional, Fitzpatrick is committed to ensuring that Woodring-Roberts' clients receive the best insurance services available.
